Low Contrast High Contrast

The Collected Stories Of  by Arthur C Clarke

This is definitely an interesting collection for most SF readers.  However, I found the writing style in the early stories to be ...well, what I might expect from a school magazine, rather than a big name in fiction.  And readers should be aware that these stories can go back many decades, one's taste for SF of the 1940s and 1950s will influence your appreciation.  As one can see from the list of the stories, it's a big comprehensive anthology (900+ pages).

Some of these stories also were the first kernels on which novels were later developed.  Readers who like to explore origins will like this; other readers may say "why look at the blueprint when you can visit the building?"

Most likely, if you like short SF, you'll find enough you like in here.
